Licensed Professional Counselor w/ Mental Health Service Provider Designation
Welcome! I want to extend a warm welcome to you. It takes incredible courage to seek out help and I honor your decision to explore a new path of growth and healing.
Growing up in a small, rural Georgia town, I learned that community was everything. My roots taught me the importance of belonging, but also the struggle of finding my own path within that tight-knit world. When I finally sat across from a therapist who truly saw me, I began to understand my place in the world for the first time. Those experiences showed me the healing power of connection and acceptance, which I now bring into my work. I approach therapy with a simple belief: healing happens in healthy relationships—with ourselves, with others, and within our communities. We all deserve to be seen, valued, and connected to something bigger than ourselves. To reach for that wanted healing in therapy, my therapy sessions are built on a few key ideas that I also try to live by.
First, I believe we should focus on your strengths. A lot of us come into therapy thinking about what's "wrong" with them, but I see it differently. You've already got so many skills, so much resilience, and unique qualities that have gotten you this far. Instead of just focusing on the difficult parts of your life story, we'll look at the strong, well-written chapters that can help you continue your life in a direction you feel good about. It's not about fixing you—because you're NOT broken—you're just on a tough journey.
That brings me to the second part: acceptance and finding meaning. We'll work on accepting your past and experiences as part of your unique journey in life. They aren't signs of failure. The goal is to transform any pain into purpose, so you can find a new sense of meaning in your life—both inside and outside of our sessions.
Finally, and most importantly, is compassion. I want to create a space where you feel completely safe and supported. My goal is to build a relationship where you can be vulnerable and express your true self without any fear of judgment. It's this foundation of trust that allows for real growth, helping you feel seen and heard as we work together to build a more fulfilling life.
